Oh blessed Jesus kind and mild,
Please listen to a little child,
And hear me while I try to pray,
Make me a better child today.

Though I am little in thy sight,
Please give me grace to do the right,
For I am just a little child,
Keep me from being bad and wild.

		|   |

Help me to think the thoughts I should,
Direct my life in doing good.
I am a little child you know,
Please lead me everywhere I go.

Dear Lord this prayer may be too long,
Just keep me Lord from doing wrong,
And if this prayer you stoop to hear,
Give me thy presence when I fear.

I long to be a better child,
And not by evil thoughts beguiled,
So may I live that it shall be,
You will not be ashamed of me.

			 |

		|   |

And may it be that while I live,
That you will love and mercy give,
And when my time shall come to die,
Take me to live with thee on high.
